Back to the topic.., What do I understand of this "Chap Goh Meh".., From what I heard through my Chinese friends and also from the Wikipedia that I read.., It represents the fifteenth and final day of Lunar Year. In Hokkien dialect, refers to the fifteenth day of the first month, the occasion of the first Full Moon of the year.
In traditional Chinese culture, it is also celebrated as the Lantern Festival. More or less, it's like the Valentines Day.. in Chinese culture way.. Tossing of tangerine into the sea by the unmarried young women (gathered) in a hope that their future spouse will pick their tangerine up. (New knowledge for me anyway... sigh) Somehow in Malaysia, the custom was originated in Penang.. (alot of ah moi babes over there tho.. hehe)
By the way.., for those who is celebrating (non Muslim), have a nice one..~ And to me.., it's a new journey of life that I am always looking forward to.. till then., Have a blast weekend guys~
